You could always just leave it in there, have an adventurer come back later and find the door locked, and try to bust it open.
That'll be a waste.

Also what about the other parts of the body... Elven King roast, and the totem is decorated with his own bones...

I already busted it open. The corpse is currently rotting in my general graveyard stockpile, while I get a coffin built.

Offer it with a bribe to the next incoming caravan.

Or show it to the elven nobles when they begin whining about trees.

Elf: W...what's that?
Urist McTrader: Our previous king. He drowned.
Elf: Why is he an e...elf?
Urist McTrader: Long story.
Urist McTrader: So you have no problems with deforestation, then?
Elf: ...None at all.

While that would be extremely manly dwarvenly and would amuse me greatly, my civilization is the only one on this map. So no humans or elves, or even kobolds or goblins. All in all, very good for the fortress, very dull for me. I just wanted to see what the king's demands were like (TEN chests?! I spent all my platinum on furniture for them and it's not enough!).

Screw the Purples, kill them, as shown in my banner.

I have a Dao as a ruler in my fortress (modified grey elven elemental spirit [POWER]) She showed up as an animal. She has no demands and I can chain her up as a guard animal. She kills everything. Basically she's the rough equivalent of a demon.

Tame? Can you butcher him? Or have him caged? Because if you can, you should do one of those. Does he need food to survive?

I rate this thread D for dwarf.
The awesomeness is incredible. A brief history:
Qanael:I have an elf king. What do I do?
Community:KILL IT
Qanael: YES! KILL,KILL,KILL
Community: :D
Qanael: It is done.
Community: :3

A thread where the topic poster actually does such a thing is one in a million.
Typicaly it's:
Topic poster:What do I do with the Elf king?
Community:KILL!
Topic poster: Don't be silly! Any other ideas?

Yes, this thread delivers.

It's a bit funny, though.  We often bitch and moan about noble mandates and demands (btw, I hate this mysterious "item in Bedroom" crap), yet Qanael just fulfilled the community's demand.  Perhaps it's because, unlike nobles, we can't initiate Hammer Time.

No mandates, and does something useful...

Keep her!
And make sure she lives, so you better guard the bitch!

That elf was probably sorely confused. You did the humane thing.

Still, it's worth noting it's not every day you find an elf that agrees on sensible dwarf values concerning the many uses of wood, the fine taste of kitten meat biscuits, and the necessity of a stout pint or two of ale with breakfast.
