thirsty dwarves wont drink

my miners are thirsty yet they wont get a drink. i know that my booze supply is still ok but they feel like dehydrating themselves for some reason. and i just started my fortress so they should have no reason to commit suicide. yet.
and my idlers wont go to my meeting zone even though its active and designated as a meeting zone. whats going on?

Is it possible a workshop is blocking off the pathway?

Are your miners injured?
