Well, saving the game when my weaponsmith got a fey mood and save scumming doesn't seem to have done anything to the list of items he wanted. On the other hand he specifically demanded steel bars and always made a spear by the same name. I've never seen that happen before, maybe weaponsmiths are special. Just one more reason to make sure your smiths like steel I guess. He also liked spears

Irritating considering I use hammers and only hammers

Leave it for an adventurer? Spears are a handy weapon in adv. mode.

You can put it in a weapon trap for room value.

Yeah, did that. Keeps people happy fairly well, too bad soldiers don't eat there

Seems I can't set noble dining rooms and communal dining rooms in the same area or the communal one can't be used anymore. Damn

When my fort is mature enough then i like making insane large gem stockpiles accepting no bins at all.

I take a Scrooge McDuck approach and carpet my fortress with coin stockpiles.

(not really)

Heh, I do this too. Usually surrounded by a trap-filled maze or a pit with the only access being a retractable bridge. Or both. Just seems like something dwarves would do.

Urist McDuck cancels everything: Swimming in rough wood opals, and diving in rough wood opals, and throwing them up to let them hit him on the head.

I used to encrust finished goods but i now realize furniture stays in my fort and i usually have so much to sell. I mass produce coffers/cabinets/doors/beds then mine out every gem i can find(save a few rough and cut for moods) then encrust everything so my fortress is a mad house of engravings and jewels. I really dont have any need from the caravans anymore so i just order metal/wood/gems since my food stockpile is already outrageous.
