XXSockXX (XX as in worn-for-three-years-and-a-half-while-swinging-a-pick-in-enclosed-spaces-with-poor-ventilation) should generate miasma. Alternatively, rotten food stuff shouldn't.
If the dorfs don't mind one, they sure would not mind the other.
