So there will both water and lava streams. What happens when they meet? Will the result cause damage to dwarf and critter alike? What if the recation occurs in a sealed room?

There is steam when they collide, and it scalds.  Lava also wins, in the sense that an active lava stream will flow through and recede an active water stream.  I'm not sure what you are getting at with the sealed rooms, steam would remain there, though it might flow up the passages from which the lava/water are entering.  There isn't anything with oxygen levels yet, although I'd like to do that whenever I have time, which is not going to be in time for August (and no one should really care).

Oh goody, It seems we will get to design steam traps.

My question about the sealed rooms delt with pressure. Will a a door/wall go boom if too much pressure builds in a sealed room.
