Roast made of air
« on: October 04, 2008, 03:08:25 pm »

After noticing that my cook was trying to fry up some booze roasts and had left to grab a barrel, I ordered the kitchen to not cook booze.

The result? A -roast-. It weighs one unit and is worth absolutely nothing.

I'm using a near-vanilla (I modded in a new trap and added bows to dwarves, but otherwise did not touch the files.), and the only thing that I can think of that would cause this was the ordering of the "don't cook these ingredients" while those ingredients were at the kitchen.

Image available at request. If the laptop didn't screw me over.

It's funny you should say that, but what I should be doing is rebuilding a database that maps experimentally determined carcinogenic mutations in protein kinases to known structures as part of a human-annotated cancer research resource.  What I'm actually doing is reading the DF forums.

This is a known bug, and it indeed happened when you forbade the use of the ingredients he wanted to use.

A similar thing can happen to moody dwarves, although the final product will considered to be made out of "toad bones."

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Ah. ...This is what I get when I forget about the search tool. Sorry.

No, it must be snorted.

Better yet, can we SELL it?

No value, as in OP.

So even if you aren't really hurting the titan, at least you can make little marks on it and bother it or something.

Better to have no value, than crash the game, yeah?  If I did that, it'd probably just spit out some random memory location, and you'd get a roast with a value of 2435678790423 gold or something.

On the item is an exceptionally designed image of a diamond in yellow diamond.

Well do you realize how hard it is to cook air?
