The takeover...Of the Statue Garden
« on: October 04, 2008, 02:16:45 pm »

I just had a glassmaker go fey. So, I watched him, and he sprinted to his destination....

The Statue Garden. Now, he's been sitting in there since late winter chilling out doing nothing.

What gives?

Hm. He went beserk.

Thankfully, he went insane when no dwarves were present, and the room was filled with war dogs. Sucker.

Stupid question, but did you have a glass furnace?

Also, you can manufacture vomit at a smelter.  Subsequently removing the smelter spews vomit over a surprising area.

I do have magma, but with no sand, it's only good for smelting magnetite and the malachite I have. I really doubt he could have done anything other than stand around and demand that I give him sand.

It seems that fey moods make their own fuel. I wouldn't have counted out making it's own sand as well...

They will take Emeralds as well, among other things.

I've had a glass maker go fay and claim a glass furnace, he then when and grabbed a gem, a couple pieces of leather, and some wood, and made a nifty gem hatch.  ::)

Last time when my glassmaker went fey, he sat in his bedroom despite having 8 magma glass furnaces available.
Until I built him a regular glass furnace.
The result? A f-word green glass vial!
Well, at least he went legendary.
The point is, having only magma furnaces might not work.

I had a glass fortress, and IIRC my glass makers never needed fuel or sand.  They always grabbed raw green glass from my gem stockpile.  I know that dwarves typically ignore raw glass when asking for gems in a fey mood, but it sounds from what tcei is saying that glassdwarves will take gems if no glass is available... neat.

Actually, i think they've just got a rough.....color.... fey mood material requirement. it could be either.
