What's the most different skills that an adventurer may have?
« on: November 08, 2008, 08:05:31 pm »

I have an adventurer with several skills.  At the moment he's leading his army from town to town, entering at night and slaughtering people in their beds.

I've just decided to have him practice with an iron short sword, for the first time in his life.

He does not appear to be gaining any skill at all, despite killing several sleeping people.  His armour user skill is going up, but nothing else.

Is it because the people are asleep?  [Maybe I should go check the wiki or bugs forum!  But then again, that wouldn't be any fun]
Or perhaps because he's got too many other skills?

If hurting sleeping people doesn't gain you any skills then I'll be stopping allowing the rest of the army to finish people off, and just go for the quick kills.

Current skill set:

Talanted Wrestler
Great Speardwarf
Adept Armour User
Novice Swimmer
Shield User
Dabbling Axedwarf
Novice Ambusher
Thrower
Competant Marksdwarf
Dabbling Hammerdwarf

...guess I've figured it out for myself.

One of the children woke up, and now skills are being gained.

On with the massacre!

Other then wrestling, you don't train skills when you attack prone (sitting) targets. If it weren't the case, getting legendary weapon skills would've been so much easier :P
