So I decided to back up my fortress and explore it a bit in adventure mode.
I abandon, and then start adventure mode, with a dwarf from the same civilisation the fortress belonged to.
I then started out, to my surprise, in a undisturbed piece of nature. The first thing I see are a couple of messages stating that 'the Oak (and such) wagon has been scuttled'
No town. No buildings.
There were a couple of dwarves nearby, but their elfish behaviour, dancing around the trees and all, instead of digging and building. -bwah- sickened me too much too stay and look for their leader. So it could have been an entire town population or, more likely, an (worldgen) embark group.
Anyway, check out the missing town for yourself, I'm uploading the save now to the file depot: scuttled40d.zip.
Oddly enough, when my first adventurer died, I tried again, and picked the same civilisation. Again, the same happened. A few scuttled wagon messages and some misplaced dwarves walking about. When I talked to them, they did not ask to 'speak to them again when they returned to their homes,' but replied as if they felt at home, so they must really make a living amongst the trees. Aboveground. Disgusting.
Hope the save helps..
Edit: damn that upload is going to take a while.. c'mon it's only 30Mb right?
Anyway, the upload is coming up. I am going to have a tea and smoke break for that.
I believe that is called 'high tea'
Edit2: I will upload the save once I get to a decent connection. Tried three times, and three times my connection failed me halfway through the upload.
