[40d] Trees survive eruptions
« on: September 17, 2008, 05:17:27 am »

So my fortress is just by a  magma pool, and I have had two eruptions. All fauna dies, but the trees and plants are left untouched.

That isn't an eruption, in the "billowing plumes of magma and ash" -- rather, the brush caught fire. Not all trees catch when a brushfire comes through.

But Dwarves do :)

Yeah, grassfires are currently having trouble setting shrubs and trees on fire.  Toady thinks it might have to do with the briefness of the fire and its temperature (i.e. it doesn't get hot enough long enough).
