Simple Finder Quirk
« on: September 12, 2008, 08:15:47 am »

The finder is wonderful, but once started it is a juggernaught of CPU hogging goodness: unstoppable.  It must continue it's function to the end, and then displays one match.  This has two downfalls:
1. If there's two sites that match, it will only show you the one it has at the end.  Thus you miss some.
2. On small computers like mine, it will hog 5 minutes on a larger world, limiting my experimental trials with it and such, and in generally slowing things down.

So my suggestions:
1. Make it so we can stop it, such as by pushing space while it is running.  Have it display the most recently ound site when one does that.
2. Perhaps log all full sites, and the top X best partial sites, and list them for the user, so they may scan through all the site results from the most recent run of the finder.  "Oh, the second one looks nice, lets try that one".  So after we run finder, we push l to go to the list of sites (displayed far right) and scroll through (and have it display the sites just as when the finder zooms to it's final site.)
