Symbols?

I'm building a new civ to play as, and I came across [SELECT_SYMBOL:WAR:NAME_WAR] in the raw for dwarves, but I'm not quite sure what any of these tokens mean or do. The wiki is lacking on any information on them.

Would anyone mind explaining what they change about a civ?

the various SELECT_SYMBOL and CULL_SYMBOL tags modify the way a civilization creates the names of its various members and constructions. SELECT_SYMBOL means they tend to use words from those groups (the groups themselves can be found in the raws) in making names.

CULL_SYMBOL mean they won't use those symbols for names.
