Album cover generation game
« on: October 31, 2008, 08:22:33 am »

A friend showed me this game on a metal forum - great results and hilarity ensued.
original thread: http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/maiden-downunder/429829-make-your-1st-album-game.html

Thought it would be worth seeing what the DFers can produce...
Strike the earth!

1 - Go to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 - Go to Random quotations:
www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

3 - Go to flickr and click on "explore the last seven days"
www.flickr.com/explore/in...ing/7days/

Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

Put it all together in paint or photoshop, that's your first album.

Here's my first:

Here's a couple. It's an oddly entertaining game, even though all of the ones I tried to just...worked. They didn't sound odd at all.

Yeah, these covers just work for some reason. I guess it's because of how humans work. We're very good at pattern detection, and hence we're bad at complete randomness.

Ugh. I must be bad at pattern detection, because ALL of them look random. Especially the utterly Not Safe For Work Picture of mikefictious.
