I am going to assume that by Cave Paintings you mean the REALLY old ones.

Yes they are quite popular. They also bring up a lot of questions in the philosophy of Art in the sense of why they are considered Art even though they were never intended to be art.

After taking a class in it... I find it HILLARIOUS, and VERY annoying, to watch how television will still get the purpose of those paintings incorrect.

Back on topic...

The Soul System also provides a few other details
1) Soul Stealing
2) Possession
3) Two headed creatures / Multiple Personalities
4) Reincarnation

All those COULD have been possible under the Soul system... hense why it interests me greatly

It even outlines what stats a ghost can have.

Actually while we are speaking about Fleshed out Stats...

What stats will Non-corperal creatures use? I realise they are the Mental stats but what will they effect?

"What stats will Non-corperal creatures use? I realise they are the Mental stats but what will they effect?"

Well, borrowing from D&D and White Wolf, here's an idear:

Rationality:  The level of awareness reguarding the incorporeals nature: ie. Souls with low rationality go on (if they become ghosts) to repeat tasks assigned during life (ie. Apparition style) and those with high rationality can act more...rationally, haunting as they see fit.
Focus:  Your capacity to affect the corporeal world
Willpower:  The wounds of the soul, how much mystical punishment one can take.
Creativity:  ? Probably serve the same function it did in life
Intuition:  Strength to the soul (this might be better as creativity) so that when two ghosts fight (if incorporeal creatures in co-inhabit the same plane and don't just exist in issolation) this measures the damage inflicted.
Patience:  The stamina of the soul, or a measure of "death rage", which scales the ghosts on a firendly/angry malevolent scale
Memory:  Your souls life-span as an incorporeal creature.  High memory means lots connects the soul to the earth, so they remember for longer the reasons they are ghosts.  This cold even decrease as the ghost goes on, and once reduced to nothing they re-enter the cycle of life to incarnate.

this is fun.  =->
