hey there i read now here and then something about oszilationg water systems, can someone tell me how to get them make waves? as far as i know they spread out as soon as possible and not move as waterhills :/

if there is a fixed quantity of water in a closed system, it will try to level its self out.  if the area it has to spread to does not allow for perfectly even distribution, waves will move randomly trying to redistribute the last odd unit(s) of water.

Well, you could build something like a 14x14 chamber that you completely fill with water, and then drain that into a 20x10 chamber.  By moving 196 units of water into a space that can hold 200, you should have some perpetually shifting water going about.

exactly.  the usual trick is to do the division such that the majority of the water level is wadeable, but there are some random waves of swimable-only water splashing about.  i think the break point is between 3 and 4, but im not sure.  never done it myself.
