I continued to play an old fort after i updated to 40c and could use obsidian just fine. Generated a new world and started playing. played for a while but now i decided to make use of the obsidian i've excavated during my volcano project but it won't appear to use in the construct menu, and the craftsdwarfs ignores the huge stockpile surrounding the workshop. And no, there are no other stones near that they can use.

strangest of all, a moody dwarf has made an obsidian statue.

Obsidian is now an economic stone, like flux. It could be that it got forbidden in the Stone menu.

I thought about the patchnotes about obsidian but as i've never used the stones menu it did not occure to me that the new fortress had different settings by default.
