Against weighting of non-finalist suggestions next round. I think either stick to zagibu's method, or draw a whole poll from just this thread (like Granite26 said). I do like the multiple rounds, however, as it draws out suggestions we all agree on, and gives less universal suggestions a chance against other, similarly specific suggestions.

It seems Threetoe doesn't share your sentiments.

My only problem with it is that when people do mockups of the raws it turns into a coding nightmare, as you have to do n*(n-1) new creature definitions and have to add like a million tags to each creature to define how it reproduces (and if it can reproduce with other creatures).

I'd rather wait for the random creature generator, and then use THAT to determine what a "half dwarf" looks like.

Okay, we'll go with zagibu's method.  Probably start the next round tomorrow, as the current top 3 don't look to be changing any time soon.

Well, as of this post there are three tied for third place (7 votes) though Tabbed Filters would be my 4th vote (currently sitting in position 3).


Strike that, I'm blind, all of those are tied for 4th.

For any interested in "Prospecting" I gathered a lump of threads, read them, and coalesced the ideas as best I could as part of my guilds suggestion.

Prospecting in the Guilds thread.

I wouldn't want it used as the official link in the OP, since it's recommendation is skewed towards the guilds concept.

1. Making all skills useful somehow
2. Dwarf-specific assignments for weapons/armor and ability to designate weapons for practicing or actually fighting
3. Ability to assign priorities to tasks i.e. giving water to wounded, trading at depot, and worst of all, bringing items to depot...without having to go around and cancel (and later reassign) every single job in the fort whenever the caravan comes.
