Waiter! there are flies in my magma!

there are always one or two swarms of flies in my 7/7 magma with roof above the channal. guess this must be a bug? not a serious one, however

Its less the fact that there are flies in the magma, more that the magma itself seems to spawn flies. I always had the feeling it was to do with molten rock/globs of rock counting as refuse or something similar.

I can confirm this; when trying to fill a massive room with magma (guess how that worked out!) there were like four or five swarms in a room with nothing but melty rock.

Melted rock...

I bet that's it!  Remember how melted rock generated clean tasks for dwarves?  I bet that the same sort of "spill" also attracts flys, which makes sense for spilled beer, but not for melted rocks!

The big question of course is, if flies can rot the Magma as they do with unprotected food ;D
