Healing skill?
« on: August 21, 2008, 08:22:19 pm »

We need a healing skill to make sure the children we bring into battles with giants can be saved.  Even if they have to lose an arm. Plenty of jobs for a one armed man! I hear assassinations pay well!

Altair lost half a finger and willingly. Not an entire arm to a giant.

Tell me that isn't from the 'new' books by that one author that is completely ripping off his old work?  Or am I confused?

Yes, he's referencing the protagonist in Assassin's Creed, Altair, meaning "The Flying One" in Arabic. Part of a shadowy group of assassins operating to stop the crusades during the Third Crusade... well, I won't spoil the plot for you. :P

Anyway, all Assassins, upon earning the honor to carry a blade, receive two things: A longsword, and a hidden blade that extends with a flick of the wrist downwards, worn underneath a bracer on the left wrist. As a result, Assassins have half of their left ring finger removed, so the blade can protrude from his wrist and up through his fist, allowing him to punch people and stab them to death. :D

You can still save them, just make sure you "T"ravel one space as soon as you have finshed killing all the hostile monsters that see you.

Don't forget that if they're uncouncious, they don't seem to travel with you.

Altair means "the flying one", whereas altaïr (with the two dots over the I) means "the bird" or "he who flies", I beleive. It's a star - part of the constellation Aquila.

Normally, if the injury is life threatening, they tend to fall unconscious. And while no one said they were unconscious, they didn't say they were awake either.
