[40a]Adamantine Lag

I recently opened up a demon pit and am suddenly experiencing serious lag.  I'm not exactly sure what's going on here--there are only six living dwarves (after one was killed by a spirit of fire).  It was running fine recently and I usually don't have trouble, even with over a hundred dwarves.  I'm not suddenly having trouble with other fortresses, either.

I've been having the same problem.  I've got no lag at all with 75+ dwarves running around and as soon as I break into a demon pit the game slows to a crawl.

Did you wall off the pit?

I heard walling off the the pit causes major pathfinding lag.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

So basically you kill 100 FPS or 100 dwarfs. Obvious choice.

Yeah that must've been it.  I did wall it off.  It's a shame because I managed to break down part of the wall but it still lags.  The fortress is dead now.
