The generation process makes the game throw an illegal operation exception at about year 280-295.  Did the volcanism bug return?

Hm... try putting something in your variation.

[ELEVATION:1:400:0:0]
[RAINFALL:100:100:0:0]
[TEMPERATURE:25:75:1:10]
[DRAINAGE:100:100:0:0]
[VOLCANISM:100:100:0:0]

to

 [ELEVATION:1:400:1:1]

Maybe that will help.

One of the toads decided to go for a swim in the moat - presumably because he could path through the moat to my dwarves. He is not charging in, just loitering in the moat.

The toad is having a nice relaxing swim.
The goblin mounted on his back, however, is drowning.
