Feeling in the mood for a challenge, I decided to run a nano-adamantine fort.  Seven proficient miners, seven picks.  DIG FOR VICTORY!

Now, my world had genned up to the Age of Heroes.  Obviously, the seven miners all bit the dust and bit it hard when they breached the pits.  Semi-fortunately, it was just frog demons and a regular one.  But still, not even their 21 brave war dogs could protect them from the wrath that flooded up from the depths.

Me: "Hey, that was kinda fun.  Let's see what happens when I reclaim."

DF: "The Second Age of Legends has dawned!"

Me: "Whoa."

So yeah, apparently freeing the demon was enough to kick the world in the pants and create a whole new chapter in history.  I was unaware play actions could affect history in that way.  I mean, it makes sense, I just didn't know about it.

The heroes in that world who knocked off the original demons are rolling in their graves. Nice going.

The Second Age of Legends lasted from 212 to 215, ending when the demon Torir Wastethief the Wickedness of Fiends bled to death, slain by the dwarf Urdim Boltflights.  Urdim herself was struck down by the frog demon Kung Profaneditch the Ugly Waste.

The next reclaim party started the Second Age of Heroes.  They got wiped out by the remaining frog demons, and then the NEXT reclaim party finally wiped out the demons and settled down to the business of fortin'.  Currently in the process of melting down the 91 suits of armor that came before.

Yeah, I embarked on a cave way back in, I think it was 39a? Anyway, the wardogs swarmed a titan and ripped it apart. Then the game let me know I entered the age of heroes.
