A Choice.
« on: August 11, 2008, 10:46:46 pm »

I currently have a fey dwarf holed up in my leatherworks, demanding hides and gems. The gems I can deliver, but the hides I may not be able to. Should I butcher one of my modded-in guard dog puppies to get the leather, or wall him in and hope my trapper delivers?

Huh... it's such an easy decision.

KILL HIM!!!

No, seriously. If we're talking economics, a puppy is worth hardly anything. Unless you don't have any other form of protection (???), then just gut the creature and feed the fey dwarf his desire.

Just kill one and see what happens.

That's what I was thinking. The one thing that's holding me back is that the litter is about to mature into my lovely size 13 double-tailed beasts. Still, I have a lot of them.

this shouldn't even be a concern, puppies are like rats in my fortresses we kill them by the dozen.

I have a cat room, whenever a dwarf goes in there, i imagine him to start drowning, you know, it would sort of be 7/7 Cats, like water, damn I'm using a lot of commas, today.
Just as a comparison,

I've played a D&D game where one of us actually fell into a pit filled with skeletal cats. The rest of us got clawed to hell getting them out again. It was a total DF moment it really was.

Skeleton cats, OMG, that is so awesome, just god. I image your DM was a strange one. I almost convinced my DM to make us fight an advanced flying dire half-dragon carp. He didn't have the time though.
