That doesn't strike me as odd...you don't have a depot, so the merchants all turned around as they entered the map, leaving the liason?

Edit:  Oh, merchants arriving in Summer?  Maybe they just felt like showing up early?  Cut them some slack.

It was the fact that they came in the first summer...that screen shot was when they first appeared which was around 10 min into the game...

Totally absurd.

You're playing as Goblins - goblins are active in all months as far as I know.  Your parent civ will visit you at their first active season, I think.

Nope, goblins have all 4 seasons in their "active" list in the raws; hence why you can get sieges during any season too.
