Also why does it seem NPCs get like 5 extra attacks? Or am I just slow?

Yah, its like the shopkeepers are telekenetic psychic or something, they always know
As for the NPCs their just cheap like that.

I've stolen an entire armor set while a merchant was watching, walked out, and left the city -- never to be caught. I was even tempted to try and sell the stuff back to him.

Hmmm...I was in there, at night, no one around...and then I left..and everyone in every town knew I was a thief.

IN the older versions, you couldn't steal a measly rotted piece of meat without the entire civilization yearning for your demise. Are you running 39e? Or any 39 for that matter?

As far as I know I have the newest version..39e...but I traveled and got away..still "I don't want to talk to you" from everyone..

Well just because you ran away dosent mean that they forgive you.
If you want to sell it try going to another civ.

Yeah, I just stole all exceptional plate then went to the civ to my north. mwhahah...of course I go back to the southern civ to kill guards and such.... :-(
