Here is the message that leads me to believe that they are trying to fish in a magma pipe. Just to let you know that I turned off the heat option.

Aren't there magma eels or something that can be legitimately fished out of magma? I dunno, don't usually mess with that stuff. Have a tendency to re-route it into the living quarters by accident.

But they fish with their bare hands..... in magma? ouch.

With the temperature off, fishing in magma with their bare hands would be the equivalent of fishing in really chunky red water.

Lava fish would definitely be an interesting addition. Perhaps they could be processed into iron or something, such that fisherdorfs could provide a slow but endless supply of metal if you have access to magma. Of course, there's also assuming that the whole bursting into flames thing is taken care of.

Were there any swamps near the magma pipe that a fisher dwarf might have been standing at?  It might have gotten confused about the location.

Okay, I'll have to make it more careful about the announcement, though with the tile flags it should be able to get things right down to the tile.  Perhaps I was silly and just used the map block or something for the announcements.  I'll have to check at some point.

 Could you please add magma fish?

 Perhaps it would be better if there were horizontal magma pipes, similar to how underground rivers are made. Heck, empty magma pipes near volcanoes.
