[39d] Restraints and wolves
« on: July 26, 2008, 03:19:08 pm »

I traded the elves for a wolf and now the wolf is on a restraint. Or was. Or still is.

The wolf is now sitting in the exact same spot the restraint was. I first told the dwarves to get the wolf unassigned from the restraint, then thought better and designated the restraint for removal. So the dwarves removed the restraint, but the wolf now has a rope reed rope on it's upper body and isn't moving. At all.

I unfortunately do not have a save of this, but it should be easily reproducible.

Has nothing to do with wolves, this will happen to dogs too.  There isn't a way to fix it, as far as I know, but this has come up once before.

Yeah, the item part is Bug 177, but I haven't heard about the lack of movement.  Is that also a typical symptom with this one?

The lack of movement could be due to the animal wounding problem?

I've bought animals from caravans and released them from the cage only to have them just sit there due to internal injuries.

I have a bear that I released from its cage right outside my fort enterance several seasons ago and I think it has moved 2 tiles since then.

Ohh, yeah. This particular wolf has all it's organs moderately wounded, however it moved fine before.

However since the OP the wolf started moving again after a while of just sitting there, so I guess this was a false alarm.
