So as many of you might have noticed, the "nightwing" creature doesn't have a full entry as a creature on the dwarf fortress wiki.  It lives in evil desert biomes and is size 8.

My adventurer was walking through an evil desert when I came across one of these beasts.  They fly, they're incredibly agile, and they're strong.

After my sword became inextricably stuck in the thing, I tried to fight it with my fists.  My inexperienced soldier didn't stand a chance.  Nightwings have two horns for powerful goring in addition to a bloodsucking bite.  And it has the ability to perform all the wrestling moves as well.

It took its time with me before using its horns to spear my arms and run me through, then calmly pulled my sword out, spit out the human bits it had bitten off, and flew off.

you know what else is evil about them? last time i fought one i cut off almost every one of its limbs, and one of its wings... it was still fighting EFFECTIVELY. they truly be monstrous things.

Actually the stats are there, sort of, under the creature standard.txt entry. Dunno why it doesn't have an entry of its own, but for the record, here are what I believe to be the key reasons behind its difficulty:

Any creature with [NOPAIN], [NOBLEED], and [NOEXERT] are monstrous to fight.

That main attack type is equivalent to a demon, minus the fire damage.

I remember going to sleep in an evil desert once and when I woke up and a Nightwing been sucking all my adventurers blood while i was asleep
Then it beheaded me...
