People talk about themselves in 3rd person!

As can be seen in this image. This elf just killed his own sister, and when asked about Family, he tells that in 3rd person.

No, he's right.  That is a guard talking about killing someone in the 3rd person.  It's rendered in english in the conversation - I matched it up.

Just out of curiosity, how did that happen? I imagine that she somehow ended up on the other side of a conflict, but I can't be sure how.

Dwarf Fortress renders the names in their native language sometimes, and sometimes with the English translation: Urist is rendered in dwarvish; in English it's dagger, if I remember.

THat does make it confusing sometimes, especially when the name is natural at the top of the screen and then translated in the text.  Plus, he killed his own sister; I bet she was abducted or something and then came back.  How tragic: "HA!  I stabbed that thief good!  Now to pull down this all-to-familiar hood and....NO!!!!!!"
