Modifying Speed
« on: July 20, 2008, 04:31:42 pm »

I know that by adding [SPEED:1] to the dwarves under the creature_standard makes them faster, but it really feels overkill. Is there any way to achieve a happy medium between that and the regular speed?

Regular speed is 1000 in the raws. Elves move at 700. Vermin seem to move quite a bit slower. Without regard to gameplay balance, 400~500 speed could be a good alternative. Remember that as dwarves get more skilled, they tend to get faster.

There's a "displayed" speed and "raw" speed.
Raw speed 900 = displayed speed 1000.
So default is [SPEED:900] not 1000,however the default displayed speed = 1000.

More raw speed = slower, more displayed speed = faster.
These 2 values are totally opposite.

Also note that speed:1 is definitely a "cheat" =).
