Author Topic: How do i get rid of stairs going into a pit without a dwarf going INTO the pit?  (Read 1440 times)

I like the idea of a rope/rope ladder you can pull back up from the top. Especially if it can go down more than 1 z level at a time with access to each level. Would probably work best if it had to be attached to an adjacent floor tile at the top.

Cover the stairs with a constructed floor.

Build a ramp attached to only a single wall like so:

When you are done with stuff in the pit, channel out the wall and the ramps will remove themselves. Your dwarf should do this from the z-level above rather than jumping into the pit, but I haven't tested yet.

When you are done with stuff in the pit, channel out the wall and the ramps will remove themselves. Your dwarf should do this from the z-level above rather than jumping into the pit, but I haven't tested yet.

Genius. I think that one takes the cake. Just hope the stone from the last wall isn't worth much.
