As per the title: I was attempting to move through an aquifer by rerouting magma into it. Sadly, whilst a dwarf was making the final cut, a cat followed him down (blasted cats!) and my miner tripped over the cat, slowing down both of them and causing both of 'em to burn.

The instant the magma hit the dwarf, the game seized up and crashed. I'm fairly certain this was the cause, as the dwarf's equipment was visible just at the end of where the magma had reached.

If the bug isn't solely with dwarves suffering horrible fiery deaths, perhaps the cat died simultaneously? Since the game crashed early on, I didn't have a save of the area in question.

If it helps, a fire imp had been slain earlier on without causing any errors or crashes.

Can you reproduce? Maybe incinerate another dwarf and see if it happens again? May have just been bad timing.

Yeah, I won't be able to do a thing without a save, unless it's happening everywhere.  Anybody throw a dwarf, a cat and some items in magma so far this release?  Working?

I have had a few dwarves burn or die from heat and haven't had a crash.

I've also had imps burn dorfs to death. No crashed here, either.

Perhaps its the cats?
