The stray cat<Tame> has suffocated!
« on: July 13, 2008, 11:47:25 am »

So, I've got a bunch of cats, a water tank, and a lot of spare time until the tank fills. I make a pit above the opening to the water tank and toss some cat's in. Strangely enough, out of the 15 cats I throw in, only about 2 of them get hurt at all, a few brown wounds on legs and stuff. When the tank fills a  few z-levels, I get a few messages and laugh evilly: The stray cat<tame> has drowned x4 but then, the rest of the cat's suffocate. They should've drowned though, right?

Drowning, suffocation, it's all death-by-hypoxia anyway.

The water was filled with microscopic blades which shredded the cat's throat and after that flooded into their lungs and ripped them apart, causing suffocation.

And what were the microscopic blades made of if they were in a fresh water pit?

Actually, the water was/is salty, so my guess is salt :)

It's dwarf water. It menaces with spikes of water.

Do you mean wet spikes of fur?

On another note wouldn't spikes cause impalement, puncture wounds, or some other form of death other than suffocation?

Are you sure they didn't have internal injuries down the list from the non-broken limbs?

I may have seen one brown lung, but there wasn't anything other than that.

This is the silliest thing I've ever AGH cough wheeze hack /me died from suffocation of air.
(this might be possible under certain circumstances but I don't really want to talk about something like that on a game board.
