Hello there. I started playing this wonderful game yesterday. My first settlement started pretty good but I abandoned it by accident  :-X .
Then I made another one but this time this message appeared while my dwarves were sleeping: "your settlement has crumbled to its end". They weren't attacked and had plenty of food and drink, what happened then? Could it be the fact that I chose a local map without a brook?  :-[

(Sorry if there are any typos, English isn't my native language)

In the latest version, dwarves are now sleeping until they dehydrate. This may have been what occurred.

What IS your native language? I'll grab a translator for if I post on the same board as you again.

Hmm that's what probably happened, thanks  ;). I speak spanish by the way.

Oh, and something else, is there a way to wake the dwarves up?

Okay, I've already got one of those translators bookmarked for when I took spanish class :p glad I could be of help, try grabbing 38c and play that until the patch is made.

If you go to DF folder->raw->objects->creature_standard.txt, the first entry is dwarf. Add [NO_SLEEP] below any tag, and they will no longer need to sleep. Not sure if it will wake them up.

You can also try deconstructing the bed the dwarf is sleeping on, or flooding his bedroom - that works for normal sleep, but probably not the bugged permanent sleep.

Your starting seven dwarves tend to go to sleep at roughly the same time though. There might not be anyone left awake to deconstruct the bed.

Actually he just fixed that problem right now. check for the latest version and it should be there.
