[39a] Layout of small human houses
« on: July 14, 2008, 02:44:16 pm »

I don't know if it is suppose to be like this or not but I find the layout kinda odd for the little houses.

The bed is right beside the door and it appears to happen atleast all of the little houses in this city, I have not checked other cities though.

Also I'm not sure if the houses should be all grouped around the shopkeepers while the mayor is off to the side but I believe this is intentional.

Yes it must be intentional, the towns look much more town-like when the hovels are centered around the roads and huddled together.

Okay thats what I figured for that one. However I don't believe the beds beside the doors for the small hovels are intentional. We'll have to wait till toady wakes up and see.

Did anyone else notice that the town is a perfect diamond?

He's talking about the layout of the furniture inside of the houses.

Pretty sure I've seen that "bed in front of door" layout in older versions.

At least it isn't hard to fix - just a simple change to the template to either put the bed in the lower right corner, or the door in the lower right corner.

The little hovels have a predetermined arrangement. The bed goes in the top right corner, the table at the left wall surrounded by 3 chairs, the food barrel at the bottom right corner no matter where the door is located.

At least thats what i observed in earlier versions.

Yeah, I haven't really worried about this yet.  Hopefully it can be more dynamic later.
