Somebody just made an "Embark Anywhere" utility. We can do this now!

Well, that was odd.

I made a channel, got the water going, abandoned and then started a new one overlapping the old one. I saw my channel there, and I channeled towards it.

Weirdly enough, it FILLED ITSELF BACK IN as soon as I got right next to it.

Hmm, try building an aqueduct instead. It shouldn't affect constructions.

I meant that, in the original starting point, you make an elevated waterway so that no digging needs to be done.

It removes all changes made as soon as Dwarven contact is made with the tile. Meaning, all that water and the aquaducts and so on and everything all disappear.

Oh well, I guess you'll have to align the channels across the two zones perfectly. If I were you, I would have the embark zones in a parfectly straight line, then dig the channel along the edge.

Ah, but you see; you can't dig away the tile at the edge. Therefore it requires that you overlap sites; doing so with embarkanywhere causes the land to revert to gen state when the channel is connected to the new one.

Have you tried using Tweak to remove the edge tile?
