Old School Map
« on: July 09, 2008, 07:55:46 pm »

I, and probably many others, would appreciate it if there was a pre-coded official map which matched the features of the original, 2d version (only not 2d), complete with the cave river-chasm-magma-adamantine system, and the giant cliff.

It'd be nice to have the retro map with the new features, bug-fixes, and Army Arc stuff.

loving this idea, you'll know exactly what you have to work with when you start up the game.

Actually, I'd prefer being able to FIGHT the elder demon instead of just "Oh no! The elder demon has  come, even though we've got 500 legendary marksdwarves with adamantine everything along with another 300 axelords, we're all going to die!!!!!"

With how tough the Demon is in Adventure mode... would he be able to take down a modestly defended fort that didn't use Adamantium?

If you had enough marksdwarves behind fortifications made from walls, no ;) Or, you could just wall him in.

A nostalgia mode would rock. As would a "god-sandbox" mode. But those can wait.

I've fairly sure someone posted an oldschool map seed a while back that had the river and magma anyway. No flooding of course.
