I keep on trying to trade with the dwarves but I can never get them  to accept my offers even if they would recieve something like triple the cost of their items with 40,000 dwarfbuck profits.

Are there items that I just shouldn't offer? That would make the merchants reject the deal? Blood, vomit, narrow or worn clothing? Cause I was sure I had offered all of those before without incident. Anybody know why my trades don't seem to work?

Check the weight allowance. If it turns red, the goods you're offering them are too heavy. Lighten the load a bit, or buy some of the cheaper metal bars or stone blocks from them.

That with "your goods the way they are I just doesn't see you getting these goods."

I thought I would have to sweeten the deal but when I kept on pouring on the goods and the message kept on spouting out that he won't accept the deal no matter how big the profit margin was.

And I bought several metal bars and 2 anvils for melting so it wasn't weight.

Are you sure you are looking at the value of items and not just the weight? With a low-skilled broker, you won't see the value of items, only their weight.

Other than that, maybe you just offered them a bad deal too many times and they are now frustrated. After too many refused deals, they will not trade with you (until they come back the following year).

Yeah, you need a novice or better appraiser to see the value of an item. Though, when trading a bunch of cheap, light items for one expensive item they've blow me off too.

I see the value of the objects though my broker isn't trained very well since my last broker died during a siege. and many of the items were the giant spider silk loincloths that goblins constantly bring so it wasn't all low grade trash.
