I want to try something in my present fortress. So, if I insist on destroying caravans, will dwarves start attacking the fortress, or they'll keep coming every year for a horrible and certain death?

On the other hand. What's the best way to destroy caravans?

There are no trader sieges in this version and dwarves have never sieged you.  They might skip coming some years or bring items of less value.

By your definition would best be most efficient or most fun?  Probably a simple story fall cave-in trap that caused them to fall into a room will upright spears would be the easiest to set up.  But there's also so many possibilities with magma, and hostile creatures.
