I have 2 dwarves I trained up to expert in wresting and I assigned them hammers to use from now on. However, they won't spar and just stand around. They picked up the hammers so I guess they know they're supposed to use them. What can I do?

Have they become elite wrestlers? If so they wont train with any other weapon sorry

Check that they are not On Duty.

Also, [v] over them to check the wounds page. Use + to scroll down the list, and if you see any internal organs listed, then they are injuries. The brain and spine (and something else which I can't remember) are nervous system injuries, which never heal, and if suffering these injuries they will never spar again.

Uh, yes they will.  They just won't get relabled as Hammerlords or whatever.

Yeah.  I've got a bunch of "Elite Wrestlers" who first became wrestling grand masters but later became legendary swordsdwarves.

They are not injured and they are not elite. They are also not on duty.
