Cant figure out why my civ sint working.

Hey, made a civ, as i wanted to go up against something nastier then goblins in sieges, but no matter what i try it just doesn't seem to appear as a neighboring civ when I'm selecting embark location.
Yes I'm generating new worlds before playing.

can anyone see anything wrong with these?

Thanks for in advance for any help.
Also, if i restricted them to 2 handed weapons would they be dual wielding them by virtue of having 4 arms?

That's just a unique identifier for the civ. [FOREST_SETTELMENTS] should work. Did you try regenerating the world a second time? Maybe you just didn't get any of that civ during world-gen. If you want them to siege you like gobbos, you need the [SIEGER] tag, I think.

I've made a dark elf race that is evil to the point it makes dark towers in forests. I have never got it to appear as a neighbor despite trying with numerous races, except when I was playing them myself.

I don't see anything wrong with it and I think babysnacher implies sieger since gobbos don't have the sieger tag.  

I've never made a babysnacher race but I've made a nuisance race that lives in caves in adventure mode but also never shows up in dwarf mode.

Maybe theres some kinda hard coded thing that makes gobbos and kobolds take priority?

Well, its nice to know i didn't mess up the mod. If i replace the elves entry's by pasting mine over it the civ will appear, however i noted kobolds weren't appearing as neighbors.

So i went back to vanilla, and generated several worlds as tests, looking all over said worlds i noticed that kobolds didn't appear as neighbors atall.

Is this some bug?
Maybe 33g only takes the top races from the entity files when selecting neighboring civs? (I'll try n test this...)

Also, I've made some very nasty war animals for this race(One or two of them could be considered megabeasts, and i made a lesser versions of some of the demons aswell.), and id rather not have goblins using them, is there anyway to restrict these animals for use of one specific race?

Thanks for all your help... Hopefully soon this race, and all its pets will be turning my dwarves to confetti.

Civ_controllable does not disrupt the spawn at worldgen. The race is so evil, skeletal elephants run away from them. :D
The creature is partly my own design, partly a copy of Keilden's Drow. Feel free to remove the EDIBLE_RAW (added as per an experiment) and restore BUTCHERABLE_NONSTANDARD if you like.
The extra weapons in the entity will probably just fall off at generation.

Okay, after some experimentation I've noted a few things.

You can seemingly only have one babysnacther civ neighboring you at a time, so i cant have alternating vershi and goblin sieges.(dammit dammit dammit...there goes my hopes for endless war...

also, if i paste my entity entry into entity_default.txt, the game will crash at world gen.
If i paste it over the elves entity.txt ( and delete elf entry for creature standard) it also crashes during world gen.( In both cases the creature data for my vershi is left in Creature_shaio.txt)

However if i paste over elf with mine in both creature standard and entity default it works perfectly.( Despite me leaving the creature entry in creature shaio, and thus there being a duplicate.... )

Pasting over kobold in both fles also causes crash during world gen(DF requires a skulking civ??), seeing as i cant have goblins and vershi bordering me at same time, i should probably overwrite goblin entry instead of elf, afterall... I need a peaceful race i won't feel bad about/will enjoy drowning/killing with automated spikes/dropping 18zlevels onto the 'alter' of my temple of Armok.( Not that i get anything useful out of it... )

I think I know where the problem lies. At least I suspect a problem.

Post the ENTIRE contents of your Creature_shaio file please. Before you do that though, try to rename to all-lowercase. The game reads the files according to an internal mask, and since it's C - ergo, case-sensitive - ...

Actually I've got them working, it appears if you want a Civ to appear as neighbor, the entity entry must be in entity default, there creature entry must be in creature standard, and you must delete one of the original civs( This makes no sense i know.. ), but not kobolds.

Now there just to play a game to find out if my war animals work....

i don't believe i made any mistake with case sensitivity. I've been modding a long time on alot of games, its always case sensitive, and I've never made a mistake along that line before.

Actually, I think the issue is mostly the hardcodedness of 4 neighboring civs max, with accordance to 4 different settlement types, and disregarding the race entirely. For example, I have dwarves modded to make towns on the plains. The embark civ list still shows humans, (and the caravan message says human caravan) but the actual race is dwarves, and dwarven traders are arriving.
