You should definitely tone it down so that some of the worse symptoms have PROB:1 to 5 or something not 100% or even 50% likely.  Low enough so that miners only occasionally get symptoms from dust clouds.  Seems much more fun if it is a risk reward tradeoff gamble

This is obviously a big necro, but I had to give credit to Lofn for the idea.

@GavJ, you are correct, the original values were more or less death sentence. I toned them down and made them resistable. Still it leads to suffocation from time to time if the miner is unlucky and/or doesn't fight diseases well.
