What will happen to the beasts which were sold to caravan？

I have already raised an army of full domesticated roc ，but now they are breeding so fast -- much faster then I expected ，in less than 10 years I already have 40+ rocs ，so I decide to sell some of them to dwarfs‘ caravan. And what I want to know is that whether the caravan will bring those beasts to their fortress ,and treat them as members of the civilization，fight goblins together , or they just disappear in the edge of map and be cleared for saving resource and Garbage Collection？Can I find those rocs I sold in Legend Mode？ Should I give every beast a name ，or let them kill some goblins so that the game will “remember” them ？

this is my understanding.

however, if you were to retire the fortress, perhaps then the animal population would be available for movement on the world map? So then you might have Rocs taking part in sieges

Named creatures will be preserved but unamed creatures will be culled

I sold my spare elephants to my home civ for years and every now again I would make a legends viewer back up


according to legends viewer my elephants were now living in the capital.

No, but they were born in my fort and weren't formerly wild if that impacts it at all

in older verions, if you sold a better pack animal to your home civ, they would use the same type of animal in caravans. (even if they didn't have time to reasonably breed them)
