Candymaker's workshop
« on: October 07, 2023, 03:38:36 am »

Making candy at the candymaker's workshop would require two types of ingredients: The main ingredient, the one that would give the candy most of its flavour. That could be a fruit, a mushroom, a vegetable or some other edible plant, and the stabiliser, the ingredient that would make the candy stick together and not fall apart. That could be dwarven syrup or honey. Candy could be sold at higher prices than regular food, and would give dwarves that consume it a happy thought, no matter the candy's quality.

I think that candy-making could be part of a broader expansion of cooking. It seems like it could just be a specific recipe outcome when ordering prepared meals.

I agree that Candymaking would be a very comfy mod for DF. I was working on one for a brief moment, and I got as far as creating some assets for it.
I ended up making the mod https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3172757153

. . . it appeals to the primordial fantasy of running an oompa loompa candy factory . . .
Looks like we need to get Dabu and Simon Swerwer working on some new songs.

Good work.

In addition to this, confised fruits (i.e. fruits cooked in sugar) would look like a good addition.

Honey could also be used.
