At present, all musical instruments are treated as finished goods. But the way stationary instruments are used - once assembled at a craftsdwarf's workshop, they're built as buildings - is more like furniture. It would make more sense if they used furniture rules:
  • They should be stored in furniture stockpiles, not finished goods stockpiles.
  • They should not be storable in bins.
  • If a large part - the main part, and some but probably not all other parts - is made of stone, it should be made at a stoneworker's workshop using the stone carving skill and labour, not a craftsdwarf's workshop using the stonecrafting skill and labour.
  • If a large part - the main part, and some but probably not all other parts - is made of wood, it should be made at a carpenter's workshop using the carpentry skill and labour, not a craftsdwarf's workshop using the woodcrafting skill and labour.

Agree with item #2.

Not sure about the rest, though...
