The kingdom now faces years of reconstruction. Many people, as well as domestic animals, have died. Piles of corpses threaten to erupt into a new plague - this time non-magical. But your homeland will survive any adversity!
Queen Mairag is using her influence to bring in additional craftsmen from the Empire to help with the reconstruction work. Together you oversee the work. Slowly, relations between you and your wife begin to warm, resulting in the birth of your child. Who knows, maybe someday it will unite the Kingdom and the Empire into a superpower like the world has never seen? History will remember you for centuries as the king who defeated death itself on the battlefield.
