I don't know, a lot of people still get grumpy when it rains altough they have umbrellas and raincoats. And they are not natural underground dwellers.

Maybe make them less impacted by unhappy thoughts when they can dry themselves and their clothing near a fire shortly after?

Give a rare dwarf a liking for being outdoors, walking in the rain or experiencing thunderstorms?
