That is true, but if you want a non-weapon material, Slade, or at least Platnum would be the best.

Sadly no artifacts are in adventure mode, atleast none Ive ever seen. Discounting the necromancer books that is.

Would have to get a dwarf who likes whips and then force them to generate a weapon mood and then forbid all metal bars other than platinum to great the godwhip

Way more hassle than it's worth since whip material performances are going to be similar to the war hammer, with all the denser metals in the flat part of the momentum curve.
