Hello. I'd like to build super happy fort.
I noticed that dwarves usually have good thoughts from being near a fine object. For example:
dwarf happy from being near a fine furnace/grate/lever e.t.c

What is the range of this event? Should dwarf bypass in a surrounding squares of a object? Or is it like 2tiles range or smth like that?

I want to build corridor of all objects/buildings made from platinum, but no idea how wide must it be, so dwarves could admire everything.

I did some !!SCIENCE!!.
I started a new embark with platinum bars, built platinum carpenters shop in a 3 wide corridor, ordered to move goods near it. None of 7 dwarves had a good thought of being near a fine carpenters shop. I ordered carpenter to do some barrels here, he also had no good thoughts. Seems I'm confused about mechanic of admiring buildings.
Anyone have ideas? Or how to do another science?

I'm not an expert in this stuff, but I thought maybe it only mattered for certain buildings, like trade depots, bridges, furnaces, and wells.

This list of buildings comes from this page: https://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/Mason

Also, most furniture that is constructed, like cabinets and tables.

Range is adjacent tiles only, IIRC.

There goes the plan for placing artifacts behind glass walls.

About making dwarves happy:
I have 2 tiles wide corridor in fort, so I built 2 tiles wide paved road and 2 tiles wide bridge (2x1 both). Almost all dwarves get good thoughts passing by.

Also have layout like this:
xrrx
xbbx
x--x
f--f
x--x

r - paved road
b - bridge
x - wall
- - floor
f - steel floodgate
none of dwarves got a good thoughts of floodgates, IIRC i saw dwarves in snother fort with this thought.

may be it's because bridge and paved rouad near by and those thoughts > floodgate thought. no idea -_-
