Okay, I can not figure out the controls in Adventure mode for anything. I've searched everywhere, but can't find anything. Moving is about the only thing I've figured out.

Some help?

Escape key, then Key bindings.

Or, for more detailed description, "?" (question mark, Shift+/) to reach help, and go from there.

if you are playing on a laptop, you will want to invest in a usb-attached external numeric keypad.

but since you're already a hardcore roguelike player, you already have one of these.

you ARE a hardcore roguelike player, arent you?

If you ARE a laptop player (as I am) you will need to adjust the "secondscroll" to keys other than the number pad keys. I've got mine set to Home (Up) and End (Down).

I fixed it a long time ago, but (I think) unless you permanently change these in the interface.txt file, they will keep resetting every time you load up.

For adventure mode, I made the diagonals - (NW), + (NE), [ (SW), and ] (SE). Up to how you like it, of course.

I guess I'm the only one playing DF on a laptop with no keypad, using the Fn key and its associated keys?

Hmmm, hadn't thought of using the Fn keys. But on the other hand, doing that, to me, would seem like...adding a z level to my current layout - which is adding far too much superfluous processing.

How do you find it tho, Mephisto?

How do I find it, as in "Is it fun to play?"

It's what I learned to play in, so I'm about as good as the average player on a normal keyboard.
